About us

The world is at hand with its biggest plastic problem ever. At this moment there is over 150 million tons of plastic in our seas and the number grows annually with at least 8 million tons. The biggest issue is the use of single-use plastics, such as plastic bags, plastic bottles and plastic tableware. 

Our own Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted oceans in the world and we do not want to see our own waters being filled with plastics and pollution. We want our own future children and grandchildren to be able to enjoy the Baltic Sea the same way as we have been able to enjoy throughout our lives.

That is why we created the Meribottles brand. 

We want to offer sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative products to people world wide. We want to eliminate single-use plastics such as plastic water bottles, by offering high-quality double stainless steel water bottles, that truly are long lasting and offer valuable qualities that plastic bottles fail to offer. 

The Meribottles are only the beginning of our mission. We have already launched our Meri Clean-toxic-free cleaning product that can be used both as a bottle cleaner but also as dishwashing liquid. In the future we are looking forward to expand the "Meri" -brand and continue to offer other environmentally friendly product lines. 

We are just a small Finnish company based on the shores of the Baltic Sea, but we truly believe in an old Finnish saying that goes: "Pienistä puroista kasvaa suuri joki", which would in English be closest to the idiom: Little strokes fell great oaks".  

What is Meri?

Meri is the beautiful Finnish word for ocean or sea, and also a woman’s name in Finland. We Finns love our waters and want to preserve them the way they should be – without plastic.

With the Meribottle we want to fight the use of plastics in two main ways. Firstly, our bottles are made out of double coated stainless steel, which makes our products a long-lasting friend for your everyday life. Secondly, we want to help different organizations in their mission to keep our world’s oceans clean. This is why we donate 1€ for every bottle we sell to charity.

We firmly believe that even with small actions we can make a huge difference. In the future, we will also release more awesome and environmentally friendly products for you to enjoy. So stay tuned, because you don’t want to miss them.
