The word "Ruska" comes from the Sami word “ruškat”, which means brown. Ruska is the wildly colorful time of the year in late September - October when the trees are preparing for winter by changing the colors of their leaves before dropping them completely. The best place to experience the autumn Ruska is in North of Scandinavia, in Lapland.
